Version 1.0·Last updated: August 2026

1. ABOUT THESE TERMS

Welcome to Draconis STARFLEET.

These Terms of Use explain the conditions that apply when you access or use the Draconis STARFLEET website and its publicly available services.

By using the website, you agree to use it lawfully, responsibly and in a way that respects Draconis STARFLEET, its community and the rights of others.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use services that require you to accept them.

2. ABOUT DRACONIS STARFLEET

Draconis STARFLEET is an independent Star Trek fan organisation and community created by fans for fans.

Our purpose is to provide a welcoming environment in which members can participate in a shared Star Trek-inspired experience through community activities, Chapters, Fleet Operations, the Draconis Academy, the Dax Library and other organisational activities.

Draconis STARFLEET is not an official Star Trek organisation.

3. STAR TREK AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Star Trek and related names, characters, concepts, marks and other intellectual property belong to their respective rights holders.

Draconis STARFLEET is an independent, not-for-profit fan community. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to CBS Studios, Paramount, Starfleet International, or any other official or independent Star Trek organisation.

Nothing on the Draconis STARFLEET website should be interpreted as claiming ownership of Star Trek intellectual property or as suggesting official status, approval or endorsement.

Where Star Trek-related material is referenced, it is used as part of the organisation's non-commercial fan activities.

4. ORIGINAL DRACONIS MATERIAL

Draconis STARFLEET also contains original material created specifically for the organisation, including original writing, organisational structures, policies, educational material, website content and original fictional concepts.

Rights in original material remain with their respective creators or rights holders as applicable.

The existence of original Draconis material does not create or imply ownership of underlying Star Trek intellectual property.

Where material combines original Draconis creativity with elements derived from or inspired by Star Trek, the rights of the Star Trek rights holders remain unaffected.

5. USING THE WEBSITE

You may use the Draconis STARFLEET website for lawful, personal and community purposes consistent with the nature of the organisation.

You must not knowingly:

  • use the website for unlawful, fraudulent or abusive purposes;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems or restricted information;
  • interfere with the operation or security of the website;
  • introduce malicious software or code;
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or authority;
  • harvest or misuse personal information belonging to other people;
  • use the website to harass, threaten or deliberately harm others;
  • infringe the intellectual-property, privacy or other legal rights of another person; or
  • use Draconis STARFLEET to imply an official relationship with Star Trek or its rights holders.

6. MEMBERSHIP AND MEMBER SERVICES

Some Draconis STARFLEET services are intended only for registered members.

Membership may provide access to additional services, records, Academy activities, Dax Library features, Chapter participation and other parts of the Draconis experience.

Members are responsible for keeping their login credentials secure and should not knowingly allow another person to use their account.

Membership does not confer ownership of Draconis STARFLEET systems, content or records.

Additional policies or rules may apply to particular member activities. Where they do, they will be made reasonably available to the members concerned.

7. COMMUNITY STANDARDS

Draconis STARFLEET is intended to be a welcoming community.

People using our community services must treat others with reasonable respect and must not use Draconis STARFLEET to engage in harassment, intimidation, discrimination, deliberate disruption or other seriously inappropriate conduct.

Members may also be subject to the Draconis STARFLEET Membership Accord, Code of Conduct or other approved community policies.

Where necessary to protect the organisation or its community, access to particular services may be restricted in accordance with applicable Draconis STARFLEET policies.

8. CONTRIBUTIONS FROM MEMBERS

Members may eventually be able to contribute material to areas such as Dax, the Academy, Chapter activities, publications and other community projects.

A contributor should only submit material that they are entitled to provide.

Contributors remain responsible for respecting third-party intellectual-property and privacy rights.

Where Draconis STARFLEET needs permission to store, display, edit, archive or otherwise use contributed material as part of the organisation, the applicable contribution process or policy should explain that permission.

9. ACCURACY AND FICTIONAL MATERIAL

Draconis STARFLEET combines information about the real organisation with fictional and creative material forming part of the member experience.

References to places such as Draconis Prime, Starbase Ascension, spacecraft, fictional operations and similar universe-building material should be understood in that context.

We aim to keep organisational information accurate and current, but website content may occasionally contain errors or become outdated.

Where an important organisational error is identified, we will seek to correct it.

10. WEBSITE AND SERVICE AVAILABILITY

We aim to keep Draconis STARFLEET services available and functioning reliably.

However, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Services may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, upgrades, security requirements or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Features may also change as Draconis STARFLEET develops.

11. EXTERNAL WEBSITES AND SERVICES

The Draconis STARFLEET website may contain links to websites or services operated by other organisations.

A link does not necessarily mean that Draconis STARFLEET endorses or controls that external service.

External websites operate under their own terms, policies and privacy practices. You should review those where appropriate.

12. PRIVACY

Our handling of personal information is explained in the Draconis STARFLEET Privacy Policy.

That policy explains what information we may collect, why we use it, how it is protected and the rights available to individuals.

Privacy enquiries may be sent to:

privacy@draconis-starfleet.org

13. MISUSE AND ACCESS RESTRICTIONS

Where someone seriously misuses Draconis STARFLEET services, threatens the security of the website or community, or materially breaches applicable policies, we may take reasonable steps to protect the organisation and its users.

Depending upon the circumstances, this may include restricting access to particular services or accounts.

Membership disciplinary matters should be handled under the appropriate Draconis STARFLEET membership and conduct procedures rather than arbitrarily through these website Terms.

14. CHANGES TO DRACONIS STARFLEET

Draconis STARFLEET will continue to develop.

We may add, change, replace or retire website features and services as the organisation evolves.

Where a change materially affects members or their information, we will provide appropriate information where reasonably practicable.

15. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms of Use when the website, organisation or applicable requirements change.

The current version and revision date will be published on the Draconis STARFLEET website.

Material changes affecting registered members may also be communicated through appropriate member channels.

16. CONTACT

Questions about Draconis STARFLEET should normally be sent through Hailing Frequencies using the appropriate enquiry channel.
